1. Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to Stoxia. These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Naim Dridi Podadera ("Stoxia," "we," "us," or "our"), the developer and operator of the Stoxia mobile application and website as a personal project.
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Stoxia, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use Stoxia.
2. Description of Service
Stoxia is a minimalist journaling application designed to help users practice Stoic philosophy through daily reflection. Key features include:
- Local Encrypted Storage: All journal entries are stored locally on your device using SQLCipher encryption.
- AI-Generated Insights: Optional AI analysis provides short Stoic reflections based on your journal entries.
- Export & Backup: You can export your data as encrypted JSON files and optionally enable cloud backup (iCloud/Google Drive).
- Anonymous Usage: The app uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication; no email or registration is required for core features.
Stoxia is provided "as is" and may be updated, modified, or discontinued at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.
3. Eligibility & Account Requirements
To use Stoxia, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age. If you are under 18, you must obtain permission from a parent or legal guardian before using the app.
- Have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
- Agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.
Stoxia uses anonymous authentication. You are responsible for safeguarding your device and any backup encryption keys. We are not liable for unauthorized access resulting from your failure to secure your device.
4. User Obligations & Acceptable Use
You agree to use Stoxia responsibly and in compliance with these Terms. Specifically, you agree not to:
- Use the app for any illegal, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app or its underlying code.
- Use automated scripts, bots, or other tools to interact with the app in ways that violate its intended functionality.
- Submit feedback, suggestions, or other content that is defamatory, obscene, threatening, discriminatory, or violates the rights of others.
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation of Stoxia's servers, networks, or services.
- Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely claim affiliation with Stoxia.
- Collect or harvest personal information of other users without consent.
Violation of these obligations may result in suspension or termination of your access to Stoxia.
5. Intellectual Property & Ownership
5.1 Your Content
You retain full ownership of all journal entries, notes, and other content you create in Stoxia ("Your Content"). Your Content remains your property, and we do not claim any ownership rights over it.
5.2 License to Use Your Content
To provide the Service, you grant Stoxia a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:
- Store Your Content locally on your device (encrypted).
- Process Your Content to generate AI insights (only if you enable this feature, and only the specific text you select for analysis).
- Store anonymous feedback submissions you voluntarily provide through the app.
This license is solely for the purpose of operating and improving Stoxia. We do not use Your Content for advertising, marketing, or any other purpose. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle data.
5.3 Our Content
Stoxia, including its design, user interface, code, logos, graphics, and original text (excluding Your Content), is owned by Naim Dridi Podadera and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from Stoxia without our prior written consent.
6. AI-Generated Insights & Disclaimers

- Educational Purpose Only: AI-generated insights are for reflection, inspiration, and educational purposes. They are not professional advice.
- Not Medical or Therapeutic Advice: Stoxia is not a substitute for professional mental health care, therapy, or medical treatment. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified professional or emergency services immediately.
- No Guarantee of Accuracy: AI models may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or contextually inappropriate responses. You should use your own judgment when interpreting AI-generated content.
- Not Legal or Financial Advice: Insights do not constitute legal, financial, or professional advice of any kind.

- You violate these Terms or our Privacy Policy.
- Your use of the app poses a security or legal risk.
- We are required to do so by law or court order.
Because Stoxia uses anonymous authentication, termination typically involves blocking your anonymous UID from accessing certain features (e.g., feedback submission). Your local data on your device will remain accessible unless you choose to delete it.
8.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your license to use Stoxia is revoked.
- We may delete any server-side data associated with your anonymous UID (crash reports, feedback submissions) within a reasonable timeframe.
- Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive (e.g., intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability) will remain in effect.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
Stoxia is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:

We do not guarantee that Stoxia will meet your specific requirements or that any defects will be corrected. Your use of the app is at your own risk.

- Emotional distress or harm resulting from AI-generated content.
- Unauthorized access to or alteration of your device or data.
- Errors, bugs, or security vulnerabilities in the app.
In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid to use Stoxia in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, for the free version, is zero).

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable international law and the laws of your jurisdiction of residence, without regard to conflict of law principles. We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or app features. When we make significant changes:
- We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
- We will notify you via an in-app message or email (if you have provided contact information).
- If you continue to use Stoxia after the updated Terms take effect, you agree to be bound by the new Terms.
If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using Stoxia.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
